Decoction preparation: 2 g of leaves in herbal tea cut in a cup of cold water, boil for 15 minutes. Strain and drink 2-3 cups daily. A teaspoon of baking soda may be added to the decoction to alkalize the urine. Contraindications: Avoid taking during pregnancy and lactation. Avoid in children under 12 years of age. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Avoid prolonged use. oral consumption of bearberry by adults is considered safe for short periods (not exceeding one month). Avoid in cases of individual sensitivity to the plant. Avoid simultaneous intake with Vitamin C, which, by acidifying the urine, would diminish the action of Bearberry. As for side or undesirable effects, remember that the presence of tannins may irritate the gastric mucosa, but the addition of Mint may help counteract this effect. It is therefore not recommended for use by gastro-sensitive people. The use of Bearberry preparations may cause urine to stain brownish-green (precisely because of the presence of hydroquinone).
