Abbot Warré created and disseminated a simplified method of beekeeping, the subject of this book, that could work for everyone, so that everyone could produce their honey needs, and to spread bees as widely as possible, because the world needs them for pollination. His is the Beehive that most respects what the bee accomplishes in nature: in it the bees can build honeycombs starting from the top and continuing their work downward; it has the shape that roughly its natural shelter, the trunk of a tree, would have; it respects the normal airflow that there is in the natural Beehive.
